Complete Pelourinho walking tour

Salvador
1 / 5

Three hours on foot through Salvador's Historic Centre, a World Heritage Site, with a licensed guide.

About this tour

Salvador was Brazil's first capital, from 1549 to 1763, and Pelourinho keeps that history in cobbled hills, colonial mansions and churches from the 16th to the 19th century. The area was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.

With a licensed guide, you walk through the Historic Centre starting at the Cathedral Basilica, on Terreiro de Jesus. Along the way: religious, civil and military architecture, and the African heritage that is still alive in the streets, the music and the food.
